Gas Prices Are up a Little, but Lower Than Last Month

Gas prices went up to $3.37 on Wednesday, two cents higher than Tuesday's gas prices but two cents lower than a week before.

Gas Prices Stay Steady

Average gas prices went up to $3.37 on Wednesday, two cents higher than gas prices on Tuesday but two cents lower than a week before.

This can be attributed to increased demand, in large part — especially since oil prices have remained low.

Last week, supply did not keep up with rising demand, leading to the slight increase in gas prices.

“Another reason is that the seasonal switch to summer blend gasoline is underway, which may account for this bounce in pump prices,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, “This blend is designed to lower emissions during the summer and is more expensive to refine. Switching to summer blend usually adds about five to ten cents to the price of gasoline.”

Demand jumped by 220,000 barrels last week while totally supply dropped by nearly 1 million barrels.

But even up two cents, the average price for a gallon of gas is cents under last month and nearly 30 cents less than last year.

  • Allow it to release pressure naturally and open the lid carefully.
  • Mix in the peanut butter a little at a time. Taste with each addition as your reward for cooking. Taste the peanut butter too, make sure it’s good stuff.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

5 Best Cars to Sell in March 2023

5 Best Cars to Sell in March

Carmigo is bringing you the best-selling used cars for March (or at least our prediction). We’ve analyzed trends on our marketplace as well as the general car market and compared those with U.S. economic trends to help you decide if this is the month to sell your car, or if you should consider waiting.

We have seen an increase in new and used car sales in the last month. And used car prices are down compared to previous months but still up compared with historical trends.

On the Carmigo Marketplace, we’ve seen initial offers and buyer expectations come closer together than they have been since before the used car bubble burst, which feels like a good omen for used car prices and sales going into March.

All eight of the market segments (e.g. trucks, vans, compact cars, etc.) lost value compared with this time last year, but pickup trucks saw the smallest decline. In fact, we’re seeing a full-blow pickup truck renaissance.

Pickup trucks like this 2023 Ford F150 are some of the best selling cars in January. Pickup trucks like this 2023 Ford F150 are some of the best selling cars in March..

The Ford F150 has returned to its previous glory. We sold 85% of the Ford F150s listed on the Carmigo marketplace last month. The offers prices are slowly going up compared with last fall, and sellers are accepting those offers more readily. As truck demand continues to rise, we expect the F150 to say on top.

The Chevy Silverado has the same story as the Ford F150. In fact, we sold every Silverado 1500 we listed in the last month. And we sold a large majority of the other sizes of Silverados listed on the Carmigo Marketplace. The only reason the Silverado is listed lower than the F150 is sheer volume. The Silverado should continue to sell well in the coming months.

These 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 are some of the 5 best cars to sell in the March. These 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 are some of the 5 best cars to sell in the May.
Toyota Camry best cars to sell in october, best cars to sell in february

You can’t beat the Camry. They hold value well and are always in fairly high demand because of their year-over-year reliability, fuel economy, and safety standards. Of the Camrys listed on the Carmigo Marketplace in the last 30 days, we sold 75%.

The Toyota 4Runner was a bit of a surprise hit for us this month. In previous months vehicles that size haven’t moved as well. Combine that with the fact that 4Runner owners usually drive them until their 4Run into the ground. But we sold 100% of the 4Runners we listed on the Carmigo Marketplace this month. We expect to see similar results in March.

2019 Toyota 4Runner
Hyundai Sonata N-Line

The Camry wasn’t the only Sedan doing well, just the most popular. We saw lots of offers on Honda Accords, Hyundai Sonatas, Ford Fusions, and Nissan Sentras to name a few. Sedans do well in most markets because of their price and reliability, but we’ve seen increased interest lately.

Worst Selling Used Cars

Photo depicting each of the Tesla models on offer, from left to right a silver Model S, a red Model 3, a white Model X, and a blue Model Y.

Tesla slashed new car prices to start 2023, so most Tesla buyers are opting to get a new model since it’s cheaper in some cases. iSeeCars reported a nearly 5 percent drop in used Tesla values following the price cut announcements.

Full-sized pickup trucks are hotter than just about anything right now. They’re depreciating slower than other body types and they’re selling across makes and models. At the same time, new small trucks are some of the most affordable vehicles, so there is less interest in small trucks.

Ford Maverick
2023 Ford Bronco

Broncos were selling like gangbusters when they first came out. And then, when there was a shortage new Broncos, folks began selling their used Broncos at inflated prices compared with the Teslas. I don’t think they’re less popular right now, they market was just so inflated that any price seems too low for many sellers.

Luxury cars are seeing higher depreciation across all body types than other cars. That means anyone selling a used luxury car is going to sell for significantly less than they purchased the car for.

It’s just been a rough couple of months for Kia Souls on the Carmigo Marketplace, and as far as we can tell, that holds pretty true across the board. It seems like the Kia Soul isn’t holding much value in the current market.

Sell Your Car in 3 Easy Steps!

Sell Your Car in 3 Easy Steps!

Carmigo’s virtual inspection technology allows you to sell your car from anywhere and get offers from our network of dealerships in a day.

What’s the Easiest Way to Sell Your Car? We’ll Show You

Table of Contents

You’re on the Carmigo website. Did you think we were going to say someone else? No. It’s Carmigo.

But seriously, Carmigo’s virtual inspection technology allows you to list your car from anywhere and get trade-in offers from our network of dealerships in a day.

Stick around, and we’ll tell you why.

Taking good photos of premium upgrades is how to start a bidding war for your car.1. Snap Some Pics

Thanks to our virtual inspection technology, you can inspect and sell your car from anywhere by taking a few pictures. It truly takes less than 10 minutes.

Our virtual inspection tool will guide you through the process of taking pictures of your car from 12 different angles using your phone’s camera. Then our software will scan those photos to create a detailed report for our buyers.

Then you’ll answer a short questionnaire about your vehicle’s features, history, and condition.

Finally, set your minimum price. If you get an offer on the Carmigo marketplace that meets or beats the price, it sells automatically — no negotiating or haggling required.

KBB ICO (Instance Cash Offer) requires sellers to drive to the participating dealerships for inspections.2. Answer Some Questions

Carmigo’s marketplace brings you multiple offers for your car, so you don’t have to drive from dealership to dealership comparing trade-in offers or, worse, get scammed in a private sale.

The buyers love it because they don’t have to spend their whole day inspecting cars they don’t want. They can search for the specific cars they need for their lot and make an offer.

Buyers from all over our network make offers on our marketplace daily, giving you competitive industry prices instead of one or two local trade-in offers.

Unlike with KBB ICO (KBB Instant Cash Offer) Carmigo let's you do the whole sale from your phone. We even pick it up after it sells.3. Set Your Price

The final step is pretty self-explanatory. We’ll help you generate a fair-market estimate for your vehicle, but you set your asking price. If the highest offer comes in at or above that price, your car automatically sells.

Carmigo Will Handle the Rest

You can sit back and wait for the offers to roll in. Once your listing goes live, buyers will have about one business day to make an offer on your car. Each new offer must be higher than the last, and we’ll send you a message each time a new offer comes in.

This is where the Carmigo Marketplace shines. Because our marketplace listings expire after a day, there is daily activity. Buyers don’t want to miss out on a listing, so they check back regularly.

And because the buyers can see their competitors’ offers, a sense of competition over a car can drive more offers.

At the end of the day, if the highest offer meets or beats your price, the car sells.

As soon as the sale goes through, we’ll begin paying off your car loan (if you have one) and transfer the remaining balance to your account.

Our title clerk will ensure the legal transfer of ownership from you (or the bank) to the new buyers.

We’ll handle any additional paperwork, and we’ll even pick it up.

What Our $350 Fee Includes

For our part, Carmigo charged a $350 flat sell fee. We’ll take the $350 out of the sale proceeds if your car sells before transferring the rest to your bank account. And if your car doesn’t sell, you don’t pay.

Cybertruck: We Can’t Stop Thinking About It No Matter How Hard We Try

Cybertruck: We Can’t Stop Thinking About It No Matter How Hard We Try

The Cybertruck fits firmly into both the cool and dumb camps. Conceptually, it looks cool. And if it ultimately delivers on all of its performance claims, it will be a very cool feat of engineering.

Is it cool or is it silly? We can't decide.

The Cybertruck fits firmly into both the cool and dumb camps. Conceptually, it looks cool. And if it ultimately delivers on all of its performance claims, it will be a very cool feat of engineering.

But also it’s called the Cybertruck, which seems like something a kid would call their imaginary truck/spaceship. And maybe that’s how they came up with the name.

The Cybertruck Is Silly

From the name to all the little unfortunate clips and soundbytes along the way there are so many absolutely silly Cybertruck stories. But our favorite is probably Musk and co. breaking the Cybertruck’s window at a press conference specifically touting the truck’s indestructibility.

The Cybertruck Is Seriously Cool

But on the other hand, the video showing off all the Space Camper (Space Camper?) features is incredible. It’s basically a tiny house that fits in the bed of the truck.

The 14,000-pound towing capacity and 3,500-pound payload capacity are impressive.

And it’s got the solar panel thing on the bed which is super cool and futuristic.

The Cybertruck Is Kind Of Nerdy

Stealth plane + Halo Warthog = Tesla Cybertruck

And then there’s the fact that the truck looks like a Nighthawk stealth plane crossed with the warthog truck from the HALO video game franchise.

And the interior is a little weird, but also super cool and sci-fi.

This is truly what happens when you give someone who grew up playing video games unlimited money.

And Then It’s Cool Again

We can laugh about building a real life, commercial production version of a video game truck, but then we see a video of the truck in full off-road mode with its suspension lifted four inches and think, “Dang, that’s cool.”

And Then It’s Silly Again

But then we see testers taking it “offroad” and it’s just them carefully hopping a curb in the Tesla parking lot. That’s a lot of hype for one careful curb hop.

And The Cybertruck Is Behind Schedule

Plus, the truck is something like two years behind production schedule, which this NYT article compares to the previous incident in 2018 when “his determination to build a highly automated assembly line for the Model 3 sedan led to “production hell” and nearly killed the company before he opted for more standard manufacturing practices.”

Most experts blame these delays on Musk’s insistence the Cybertruck body be built from stainless steel, which hasn’t been used on a car since the ill-fated (but popular amongst fellow 80s pop-culture fanatics) DeLorean.

DeLorean went bankrupt almost immediately after launch.

Meanwhile, more modest (but still plenty flashy) EVs like the Rivian (US) and Radar RD6 (China) are hitting the market and picking up early EV market share.

We’d Definitely Still Drive a Cybertruck

The fact of the matter is, we’d drive a Cybertruck — especially if it had one of those Space Campers on it.

Tesla is counting on the same sentiment from the rest of the market. Is this Elon Musk-inspired engineering behemoth wild enough to spark Tesla sales once again? We won’t find out until it hits the market.

Mississippi Tech Startup Carmigo Hits 4,000 Cars Sold Milestone

Carmigo just sold the 4,000th car on its online used-car marketplace. The Mississippi-based automotive tech startup is poised to continue its exponential growth in the coming year despite an industry-wide market slowdown.

Carmigo, a Mississippi-based technology start-up, just sold its 4,000th car.

This milestone comes while other online tech companies in automotive continue to struggle.

“Last year was an exciting ride, seeing the used car market reach stratospheric highs before plummeting back to earth,” said Carmigo CEO and Founder Andrew Warmath. “We got to experience that unprecedented growth. But then we were quickly forced to adapt and innovate in order to grow when other companies in our industry were struggling.”

Carmigo sold just over 1,000 cars in its first year of operations after launching in January 2021. Now, after only one more year, the Tupelo-based company has quadrupled its sales.

Carmigo Hits 4,000 Cars Sold Milestone

We just sold our 4,000th car on the Carmigo marketplace. And this achievement comes after months of industry-wide slowdowns and price drops.

And we’re well on our way to 5,000!

We just sold our 4,000th car on the Carmigo marketplace.

The thing we’re proudest of is having this achievement come after months of industry-wide slowdowns and price drops.

We knew we could sell cars when the market was favorable. But now we’ve proven we can continue to make the process easy for our sellers while returning more-than-competitive offers no matter the conditions.

Here’s what our CEO and co-founder, Andrew Warmath said:

“Last year was an exciting ride, seeing the used car market reach stratospheric highs before plummeting back to earth. We got to experience that unprecedented growth. But then we were quickly forced to adapt and innovate in order to grow when other companies in our industry were struggling.”

Carmigo sold just over 1,000 cars in our first year of operations after launching in January 2021. Now, after only one more year, we’ve quadrupled those sales.

We think it’s our unique approach to business that helped us weather the storm. Instead of holding inventory like most online used car buyers, we focus on creating a simple transaction without creating excess inventory.

More from Andrew on what sets Carmigo apart:

“What makes us different is that we’re not focused on the sale. We’re focused on making the transaction easy and beneficial for both parties. Coming from a dealership background, we know how hard it is to inspect and stock quality used cars, so we want to bring lot-ready cars to our dealership partners. We also know how hard it can be to sell your car. So Carmigo works to make it easier for everyone by connecting these two needs at scale.”

This difference also allows us to charge a flat buyer and seller fee instead of relying on margins that fluctuate from transaction to transaction.

Do you have a car you’re thinking of selling? Your car could be 4,001

Well, we’ve already sold 4,001. Heck, in the time it took us to put all this together, we already started talking about the 5,000 cars sold blog post.

But you can join the car-selling revolution and list your car in as little as 15 minutes to start getting offers today.

We’re Giving Away Air Fresheners to Celebrate

And if you’re not selling, you can still celebrate by grabbing a free air freshener here.

Our Process Is Built on Feedback

We can’t celebrate this milestone without acknowledging all of the feedback we’ve gotten from buyers and sellers. A significant portion of the updates made to the Carmigo Marketplace over the past two years has come from the feedback we’ve received.

We’ve been lucky to work with folks who are willing to provide constructive feedback when things go good or bad, and that has been critical.

We are proud of the tools and marketplace we’ve built. And we’re thankful for all the buyers and sellers who have trusted us with their cars. They’ve all given us incredible feedback along the way.

A Love Letter to Our Sellers

A Love Letter to Our Sellers

Valentine's Day is here, and it has us in our feels about our 568 five-star reviews.

Happy Valentines

We get new love letters from our sellers every week. You can read them on our website or on Google Reviews,

But we want to turn that around on our sellers.

Because our sellers are always saying how we have a “smooth and simple process” and are the “easiest car-selling experience.”

Well, here’s the truth, our sellers make it easy to build a better car-selling experience with their incredible feedback.

They tell us we proved ourselves trustworthy by making them feel “secure about it from beginning to end,” even though they were “a little apprehensive making a deal such as this online.”

Well it’s thanks in large part to the trust of our amazing buyers and sellers that we’re able to keep growing and keep innovating our marketplace.

And the common refrain of “amazing customer service” in those love letters is so sweet. But we have to say, you’ve all been a pleasure to work with. It’s easy to do our job when we have trusting sellers who stay engaged with us from beginning to end.

And it’s a joy to implement new features that were specifically requested by our buyers and sellers. That’s how we know we’re onto something special.

And to that handful of you who left us less than five-star love letters, or worse, breakup letters, we want you to know we’ve changed. You were right, and we’ve grown.

Ford Makes Mach-E Price Cuts, Taking a Loss to Boost Sales

Ford Makes Mach-E Price Cuts, Taking a Loss to Boost Sales

Ford announced Mustang Mach-E price cuts this week, up to $6,000 in some cases, weeks after Tesla similarly cut prices to gain market share.

New pricing on the Mustang Mach-E While Cranking Up Production

Ford announced significant Mustang Mach-E price cuts, up to nearly $6,000 in some cases.

The company has said the cuts mean some of the models will sell at a loss, but increased sales, scaled production costs, and a larger market share could pay off down the road.

Increasing Access

Here’s what Ford’s big boss Jim Farley said, “We want to make EVs more accessible, so we’re increasing production and reducing prices across the Mach-E lineup. Scaling will shorten customer wait times. And with higher production, we’re reducing costs, which allows us [to] share these savings with customers.”

The Mach-E sold nearly 40,000 units last year, and Ford plans to boost production to 130,000 cars yearly.

Competing With Tesla Cuts

These Mach-E price cuts come after Tesla shaved prices to qualify for the EV Tax Credit. While Tesla’s price cuts are larger than Ford’s, Ford will be extending the savings to recent buyers and anyone with a current pre-order as well.
